A game turn consists of two active phases and their corresponding reflex phases.

Before the first game turn, a starting player is chosen by rolling a die. The starting player begins the first turn by carrying out his active phase. When this is completed, the second player will carry out his active phase. The starting player will then begin the second, and subsequent turns, with his active phase.

As a player's reflex phase occurs simultaneously with the opponents active phase, a game turn for a player will either consist of an active phase followed by a reflex phase, or a reflex phase followed by an action phase.
